COSMETIC TATTOO PRE-CARE

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Existing Brow Tattoos:
Consultation required first. Please consult Jennifer before booking.

Lip Blush Prep:

For best results, you must moisturise your lips daily for at least 4 days before your appointment. If you arrive with dry, cracked lips, your appointment may need to be rescheduled at your expense, as this affects the outcome of the treatment.

Pregnancy:
Tattooing is not performed during pregnancy.

Breastfeeding:
Tattooing is not performed during breastfeeding. Contact us for more information.

Chemical Peels:
Avoid chemical peels 2-4 weeks before and after cosmetic tattoo treatments.

Cosmeceutical Skincare:
Avoid products with AHA’s, Vitamin C, Benzoyl Peroxide, Vitamin A, and alcohol (6%+) at least 5 days before treatment and 2 weeks after. These may accelerate fading.

Injectables:
Avoid cosmetic injections at least 2 weeks before or after treatment to ensure even distribution and minimize bruising.

Eczema/Dermatitis:
Seek medical advice if you have skin hypersensitivity or dermatitis before cosmetic tattooing.

Allergies:
Inform Nadine if you have allergies to latex, rubber, medications, numbing agents, or Phenylalanine (PPE).

IPL/Laser:
Avoid IPL/Laser treatments at least 4 weeks before cosmetic tattooing. Do not perform IPL/Laser on tattooed areas.

LED Therapy:
LED therapy may aid healing and is beneficial post-treatment.

Facial Surgery:
Obtain doctor’s permission before treatment if you’ve had recent facial surgery.

Topical Vitamin A:
Avoid Retin-A, Tretinoin, Hydroquinone, and skin bleaching agents within 5 days of treatment due to increased sensitivity and scarring risks.

Alcohol:
Avoid alcohol 24 hours before your procedure to minimize bleeding.

Supplements:
Avoid fish oil, primrose, krill oil, ginseng, and gingko biloba for a week after treatment.

Medications:
Consult Jennifer if you’re taking Warfarin, Heparin, Aspirin, opioids (e.g., Endone), Prednisone, Roaccutane (within 8-12 months), or antibiotics.

Diabetes:
Delayed healing may occur; contact Jennifer before booking.

Cold Sores:
Lip tattooing cannot be performed if you have an active cold sore, as this can affect healing and results. The procedure may also trigger future breakouts. If you have a history of cold sores, it is essential to take an antiviral medication (such as Valtrex) before your appointment to reduce the risk of an outbreak, as this can impact your healing and pigment retention.

Radiation/Chemotherapy:
Obtain doctor’s permission before treatment. Contact Jennifer for more information.

Exercise/Gym:
Avoid chlorinated/saltwater pools, high UV exposure, sunbeds, infrared light, and cardio workouts for 2 weeks post-treatment. Avoid excessive sweating, sauna, hot spa, and spray tanning for 48 hours post-treatment.

COSMETIC TATTOO AFTERCARE

LIP BLUSH

Initial Swelling & Pain: After treatment, mild swelling and discomfort are normal and should subside within 48 hours. You may take Nurofen or Panadol for relief.

Aftercare Application: Use our very own Brow to Pout Healing Balm aftercare, available for purchase at your appointment. Apply every hour for the first 7 days. This product also serves as a hydrating lip balm. If your lips dry overnight, apply a light coat of antiseptic Bepanthen before bed.

Hydration & Diet: Drink plenty of water. Avoid hot tea, coffee, and spicy foods for the first 2 days, or use a straw to minimize contact with your lips.

Peeling: Expect peeling to start around day 3, which is normal. Do not pick at the peeling skin. Continue using the aftercare product to aid healing.

Healing Time: Your lips should heal by day 5-7, but the color will continue to evolve over the next two weeks.

Cold Sore Prone: If you are prone to cold sores, continue taking your prescribed medication from day 2 to prevent outbreaks.

Touch-up: Any pigment loss or concerns will be addressed at your 6-week touch-up.

Concerns: If you have any questions or issues, contact Jen for assistance.

POWDER BROWS

Immediate Effects: After your procedure, your brows will appear darker than expected. You may also experience tingling, tenderness, redness, and mild swelling for 1-2 days.

Aftercare Application: Use our very own Brow to Pout Healing Balm, available to purchase during your appointment. This is to be applied to the tattooed area twice a day, morning and night, for 10 days. Avoid getting your brows wet or using any other products during this time to prevent infection and pigment loss.

Healing Process: Your brows will begin to shed, and the color will fade to its natural shade within 5-10 days. Complete healing typically takes around two weeks.

Activity Restrictions: For the first 10 days, avoid:

  • Hot steamy showers

  • Swimming

  • Gym or activities that induce sweat

  • Makeup on or around the brow area

Touch-up: If there’s any pigment loss or you're not fully satisfied with the results, we’ll address it during your 6-week touch-up.

Concerns: If you have any questions or concerns, contact Jen for assistance.

FAUX FRECKLES

Avoid Touching: Do not touch, scratch, or pick at your freckles as they heal to prevent infections and scarring.

Gentle Cleansing: Clean your face with a mild, fragrance-free cleanser. Avoid scrubbing the treated area.

Moisturize: Apply a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer to keep the area hydrated, but avoid products with active ingredients like retinol or AHAs.

Sun Protection: Use SPF 30+ daily to protect your skin and prevent fading. Sun exposure can affect the healing process and pigment retention.

Avoid Water & Sweat: For the first 7-10 days, avoid swimming, saunas, and excessive sweating.

No Makeup: Refrain from applying makeup to the treated area for at least 5-7 days to avoid irritation.

Healing Time: Expect light scabbing or flaking within a few days. Let it heal naturally—freckles will soften and settle over the next 2-3 weeks.

Follow-up: If needed, book a touch-up session after 4-6 weeks once the freckles are fully healed.
